Read Acts 11:1 through 13:52
Marsha, a first-year teacher, watched Keesa in awe. Keesa captured her students’ attention from the moment she entered the classroom. She was engaging, inspiring, thought-provoking, and, most of all, effective. Each student extended his or her arm, eager to gain her attention, answer her questions, or be involved in the discussion. Marsha wondered if she could ever be as effective.
The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea (Acts 11:29).
God has equipped everyone with unique talents and abilities. Whether people are teachers, pastors, or have gifts of service or hospitality, everyone is called to exercise the gifts they have. One gift is no greater than another in God’s eyes. He gave each according to the personalities He created. He knew ahead of time what people’s positions, professions, and dispositions would be.
God wants His children to use their abilities, much like the disciples, to “provide help” for neighbors, coworkers, and strangers.
Challenge for Today: Use your unique abilities to help someone in need.
